Windows may show a security warning

Because Shadow Claude is new software, Windows SmartScreen may show a "Windows protected your PC" warning. This is normal for any new app that hasn't yet built reputation with Microsoft. The app is safe to install.

Click "More info"

When you see the blue SmartScreen popup, click the small 'More info' text link at the bottom.

Click "Run anyway"

A 'Run anyway' button will appear. Click it to proceed with the installation.

Follow the installer

The installer will guide you through setup. Shadow Claude will launch automatically after installation.

Why does this happen?

Windows SmartScreen builds trust based on how many people have installed a particular app. Brand new software always starts with no reputation, regardless of whether it's safe.

As more people download and install Shadow Claude, this warning will disappear automatically. We're also in the process of obtaining a code signing certificate to remove it permanently.
